Ah, these mythical chips have arrived to grace us with blessings of maxed out weapon attachments!
These chips exist to save you gold. However, with inappropriate use of these chips will lead you to waste your gold.
1. So what is this?
It allows you to make perfect weapon attachments from your dreams.
2. Wow it is amazing!
Well, of course those chips will be available in limited quantities and require a lot of golds. Each 10% of stat increase will require 50,000 gold and one golden chip.
3. Damn, how many would be available?
As now, for those who are F2P, you will get about 12~15 of them per month. You can also obtain them from the second section of platoon store (5 of them) and new achievement store (8 of them) but they do not restock.
If you are a whale, you can buy packages, but there are limits on how many you can purchase. Per banner cycle (3 weeks), you will be able to buy 22 of them. So if you are a whale, at least you will be getting 40+ ships per month.
4. Ah, so how do they work?
First of all, you have to calibrate an attachment normally. You may use Precision Boost Chips if you realy want (but I absolutely recommend you to NOT USE PRECISION BOOST CHIPS. Keep reading below to find out why.)
If you have gotten a calibrated attachment which has AT LEAST 100% or higher on all substats, you can apply the golden chips to further improve the stats of the attachment. Each golden chip will increase 10% of the stat. If the base stats (colored white bars) are not full, it will increase the base stats to full first.
Once you use the golden chip on the attachment, it will no longer be able to calibrated by normal methods. You can only use the golden chips to enhance that attachment from then on.
5. Wait, I can't use these on some of my attachments? Just what is this "AT LEAST 100%" requirement?
I give you some examples below.
This is possible. It was boosted with the precision boost chips, so all substats are at 100% or higher.
This is also possible, since all three substats are more than 100%
This is NOT possible. Both Attack and Attack Boost is more than 100%, but defense is only 30%. Thus, this whole attachment cannot be enhanced by the golden chip. You have to use normal calibration methods to have all substats 100%+
6. Oh, so I can just use that pile of precision boost chips! They give you guaranteed 100% per each substat, right?
You really should not use those precision boost chips.
Because using precision boost chip is highly inefficient gold-wise. Using those orange chips is ideal to create temporary attachments or making attachments for support characters, but since the precision boost chips do not guarantee higher enhancement chance other than basic 100% as the lowest possible floor, you would end up spend more gold than when not using the precision boost chips.
Remember, the total gold cost increases when you use these precision boost chips. Math just does not work out well for using these orange chips.
7. Ah, damn. So whatever, as long as the substats are more than 100%, I can use the golden chips, right?
Ah... let's not do that either.
These golden chips are limited in quantities. Even if you are a bigtime whale, you can only buy about 22 of them per 3 weeks. If you enhance a bare minimum attachment (100% - 100% - 100%), it will require whooping 30 chips to fully enhance into a perfect attachment. This is not gonna work well.
8. So what's the best way to use the golden chip?
1) Farm attachments to obtain attachments with desired substats.
2) Use normal repeated calibrations to obtain an attachment with "reasonably" high substat values.
For 3-substats attachments, it is about 450%~470% total.
For 4-substats gun barrels, it is about 560%~590% total.
3) Use the golden chips to enhance those attachments with high substats into perfect attachments.
The values above are chosen to minimize the excessive gold usage from regular attachment calibration while also attemnpt to save as many as the golden chips as possible.
*Fun fact: without the use of the golden chip, obtaining a perfect 600% 3-substats attachment require 2,500,000,000 gold. For 800% gun barrels, it will require 125,000,000,000 gold. A 450% attachment requires approx 600,000 gold in average and a 580% gun barrel requires approx 850,000 gold in average.
9. What characters/attachments should I start from?
Start with dealers, and most likely dealers only. Characters like Klukai, Makiatto and QJ should be priotized first, then Tololo, Peritya, Sharkry and Daiyan should be next.
For attachments, start with gun barrels: specifically Critical Damage substat. There aren't many sources for critical damage, and its improvement impacts the overall dps of the dealer the most. Next would be Attack Bonus, then at last Attack/Critical Rate.
By starting with gun barrels, you can also swap and share gun barrels among multiple characters. After the gun barrel is finished, you may go for other attachments.
