This guide is written for Splatoon, a Darkwinter server platoon member. JOIN US NOW!
Platoon ID: 100337 No application required! All we ask are doing dailies and be active.
This guide is for the unreleased characters on the global server. When a character is released, she will be moved to the current characters section.
Not all characters are created equal. As of now, MICA has been pushing element-based team composition rather than role-based team composition. It means you need support/dealer/(healer) for each element. At least you'd want to deploy a team of two for each element to create dual-element teams.
However, unless you are willing to burn your hard-earned money diligently for every three weeks, it is not possible to obtain all characters.
If you are nearly F2P with just a monthly contract and the battle pass, the average free limited pulls are usually around 100. To get V0 (no dupe, just single copy) with 90% confidence, you will need about 145 pulls. Of course, if you pull more characters, it will eventually average out around 80 pulls. Thus, it is mathematically possible to pull every single character as long as you give up getting any signature weapons.
Unfortunately, just like many gacha games, there are characters who require additional dupes to function. Even worse, some of the "must" characters are such characters.
And remember the word "mathematically" above? It is entirely possible that your (un)luck is much stronger than mathematics. In the end, you will have to make a choice.
The same goes for dolphins and small whales. Unless you are truly a big whale (a.k.a willing to spend about 2000 dollar per month for V6-ing all characters. As soon as you spend more than available packages, the game suddenly becomes extremely expensive), you will also have to make some smart choices for getting additional dupes.
This guide is written to help you make decisions.
For a character, a single copy starts as V0. It requires a total of 7 copies to make a character V6.
For a weapon, a single copy starts as R1. It requires a total of 6 copies to make a weapon R6.
The order of characters appearing here is based on pure speculation and CN Server history.
1. Qiongjiu
- Needed or Not : Needed. Critical piece for the burn team.
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade : V3
- Signature Weapon : Golden Melody is exceptionally good but not as universal as Planeta. QJ, Sharkry and Centa can utilize GM well.
- Comment : Among with Tololo, Qiongjiu(QJ) is perhaps the most beloved character by F2P players. She is also a critical piece for the burn team with Vector. In order for her to be fully functional with Vector and Sharkry, you need at least V3. V5 is definitely yet another decent upgrade, and people are usually told to stop at V5. However, she is a standard character... You will eventually get her dupes if you play long enough. Thus I recommend to stop at V3 instead.
That being said, even without any Vertebrae upgrade, QJ is already very strong. If you have her, utilize her as much as you can.
2. Tololo
- Needed or Not : Exceptionally good. Required if you are not going to pull Nikketa.
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade : V2
- Signature Weapon : Her weapon, Planeta, is perhaps the most universal weapon that can be substituted for many characters. DO NOT COMBINE.
- Comment : Alongside with QJ, Tololo is another standard character with very good performance. However, she can only compete with limited run characters when she is V2 and used with V1 Springfield. With V1 Springfield, she will be able to shoot three times per turn, drastically increasing her firepower.
3. Vepley
- Needed or Not : VEPLEY BRINGS HAPPINESS. She can dance. She can sing. She is cute. She also has incredible strength that even military-oriented dolls awe. She can probably easily crush your skull with just one of her bare hands without much trouble. Oh, she also can easily crush your wallet as well. So... be nice to her, just in case.
- Signature Weapon : It generally works for Vepley, Lotta and Sabrina. Not worth pulling specificially.
- Comment : If you played this game from the very beginning, you probably used Vepley and probably were satisified with her. Lotta is definitely a better AOE dealer, but Vepley is far more mobile and can remove/apply buffs/debuffs. If you were serious about gunsmoke battles, you probably used her for defense debuffs and cleanse. But now, her only job left is to sing and dance at ELMO.
4. Peritya
- Needed or Not : Needed if you use V6 Klukai.
- Required Vertebrae Upgrade : V0
- Signature Weapon : DO NOT TRY PULL OR GIVE OPTICAL ILLUSION TO PERITYA. THE BP WEAPON MJOLNIR OUTPERFORMS IT BY CONSIDERABLE MARGIN.
- Comment : She is such a extreme case. If you do not have access to V6 Klukai, you do not need her. If you do, Peritya is needed to make a strong corrosion team with V6 Klukai.
When Phaetusa gets released, you can replace Peritya with Phaetusa.
And remember. Optical Illusion is hilariously bad. Give Peritya Mjolnir.
5. Sabrina
- Needed or Not : From the "MOST HELPFUL (ALL TIME)" Steam review, it says:
i cant believe i got a free anime strategy rpg shooter game along with my installation of hot spas 12 woman sabrina
It seems a lot of westerners like her due to her body shape. I guess.... she is indeed hot, but unfortunately this is all she has.
I mean, you can use her. After all, you can get her FREE from weekly boss store. As soon as you buy 30 shard, you will have an option to "upload" her from the refitting room.
- Signature Weapon : Even her signature weapon sucks unless it is FULLY refined. Just give her Pigeon or Heart Seeker.
- Comment : Yes, she can apply hydro weakness to enemies, but it becomes redundant when Springfield comes online. The biggest problem of Sabrina is she just can't tank. She will just die as soon as she becomes a main target.
At least sometimes you may find her usable on very niche situations.
6. Mosin Nagant
- Needed or Not : Good to have if you are working on the electro team.
- Required Vertebrae Upgrade : V4 (if you have Jiangyu) or V6
- Signature Weapon : Quite decent that can be used for other RF dealers.
- Comment : Some would argue V4 is minimum requirement regardless of Jiangyu. But without her, MN does not perform assist attacks on enemies who still have stability points, greatly reducing her contribution.
With Jiangyu and her ability to quickly shred stability points, you may use her with V4.
Otherwise, at V6 she is similar with other V0~V1 limited sentinel dolls. Until a decent secondary electro dealers show up, you will be using her for your electro team.
7. Papasha
- Needed or Not : Good to have.... I mean, you can get her for free.
- Signature Weapon : With incredible raw stats, Svarog is perhaps the best versatile submachine gun in this game. The issue is you can get only one copy per account. If it ever becomes available for multiple copies, you may not want to miss the chance. You can get one from the Platoon store.
- Comment : From my experience, she is actually decent, and with a physical support like YooHee she can bring some decent firepower. With more dupes, she becomes stronger. So keep buying shards for her.
8. Suomi
- Needed or Not : Needed for the freeze team if you do not have V1 Helen, and for convenience.
- Required Vertebrae Upgrade : V0
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade : V1
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade for whales : V1R1+
- Signature Weapon : It is very good. While it has less raw stat compared to Svarog, it has team-wide freeze damage buff.
- Comment : People underestimate how much convenience Suomi can bring, but really the biggest reason you want her is that she allows you to be lazy with many of events and standard battles.
With recent change with the freeze team, Suomi is required unless you are willing to get Alva to V4 or have V1 Helen. Most of the freeze team's damage boost is activated by shields, and unless you get V4 Alva or V1 Helen, Suomi is the only one who can reliably provide shields to her team.
That being said, after you get V1 Helen, you are probably not going to use her on gunsmoke battles at least. So keep that in mind.
9. Daiyan
- Needed or Not : With the first AND second modkey, she is finally powerful enough to be employed as a secondary dealer amongside Voymastina.
- Required Vertebrae Upgrade : V0
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade : V3+
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade for whales : V4
- Signature Wepon : Not really good. The quality of life regarding usage is not that great and it also requires higher refinements to be powerful. Planeta is usually a better choice overall.
When Voymastina gets released, her sig weapon, AK-15, is a straight upgrade from both Planeta and Heavy Strings. So give Daiyan AK-15 if you like her much.
- Comment : After the second modkey, Daiyan becomes very strong enough to be used with Voymastina on gunsmoke battles.
The obvious question would be the comparison with Ullrid. Here is the rundown.
For Dayian:
1. Unlike Ullrid, she does not require her sig weapon to be functional.
2. She becomes the main dealer with just V3, while for Ullrid you need to reach V4.
3. She is a ranged dealer who is more flexible on the field compared to Ullrid.
For Ullrid:
1. At the same V4, Ullrid is considerably stronger than Daiyan.
2. Unlike Daiyan whose V5~V6 do not give any damage boost, Ullrid's V5 and V6 upgrade do give considerable damage boost. It means Ullrid has higher damage ceiling, if you have money to burn.
10. Centaureissi
- Needed or Not : Needed for the burn team healer. V2 Vector with modkey can replace her role.
- Required Vertebrae Upgrade : V0
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade : V0
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade for whales : V0
- Signature Weapon : It is probably one of the worst signature weapons. Guerno provides far better and consistent performance for Centa.
- Comment : Yeah, she is also one of the older dolls, but she is currently only healer for the burn team. Her modkey increases her performance and allows you to counter some of insta-kill mechanics from future bosses.
With upcoming update, V2 Vector with her modkey can safely replace Centa's role unless you need invulnerability.
Some people may point out that Centa's V1 is crazy good. Yes, it is good, if she is not used with QJ and Vector. The issue is that both QJ and Vector provide same buffs that Centa V1 provides and they do not stack. Since you won't be using Centa without QJ and/or Vector, her V1 is unfortunately useless unless we get new characters who can utilize Centa's V1.
11. Makiatto
- Needed or Not : Needed for the freeze team main dealer.
- Required Vertebrae Upgrade : V0
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade : V1R1
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade for whales : V2R1
- Signature Weapon : Exceptionally good. So good that you can use this weapon to other characters (such as Nikketa) with different elements. If you can't pull her signature weapon, give her Samosek.
- Comment : She is a decent counter-based dealer with good single target damage.
As the one of the older characters and had troublesome past, her vertebrae is not as efficient as the newer characters. Her growth pretty much stops at V2, then at V6, she does get approx. 50% damage increase, which is not as stellar as other hypercarries. Robella is a better hypercarry at the higher vertebrae upgrades, thus it is recommended to stop at V1~V2 for Maki and pour rest of the money into Robella instead.
However, something you need to understand is that without Maki, none of other freeze team members function. The problem of Maki is that she is indeed a pillar of the freeze team, yet her performacne is not as high as other hypercarries, essentially baiting players to get high vertebrae upgrades for ALL freeze members.
- Needed or Not : With the first AND second modkey, she is finally powerful enough to be employed as a secondary dealer amongside Voymastina.
- Required Vertebrae Upgrade : V0R1
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade : V0R1+
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade for whales : V4R1+
- Signature Weapon : If you are going to use Ullrid, you must have the sig weapon because of the energy requirement. Otherwise you can't use her full combo.
- Comment : With the second modkey (not yet available on the global server as of 10/15/2025), she is the most powerful secondary/sub dealer for the physical team, even exceeding Lainie.
Something to think about is, however, Lainie does not even have her first modkey yet. It means other physical characters still have potential, while I highly doubt MICA will further buff Ullrid. So this is probably as high as she can go.
That being said, when you reach V4 she is extremely powerful and will be able to spam 2-2-2-3 combo every turn, making her a real hypercarry. However, she is NOT EVEN close to Voymastina, so focus on Voymastina first before you think about any vertrbrae upgrades.
For the comparison with Daiyan, see Daiyan's descrpition.
13. Dushevnaya
- Needed or Not : Needed for the freeze team.
- Required Vertebrae Upgrade : V0
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade : V1
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade for whales : V6R1
- Signature Weapon : Honestly it's weak. It does have 10% freeze teamwide damage boost though. Give her Samosek or Arcana.
- Comment : While she is not as good as recent support characters, she can bring damage boost for freeze team dealers. So, Dush is really made for whales; she barely has any improvement between V2~V5, and suddenly at V6 she gets everything. She is probably the reason why the freeze team is considered as expensive.
That being said, V1's movement bonus can do a lot of things for the team, especially wargames and other non-gunsmoke game modes.
14. Klukai
- Needed or Not : KLUKAI IS THE CORROSION TEAM. THE CORROSION TEAM REALLY MEANS THE KLUKAI TEAM.
- Required Vertebrae Upgrade : V0
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade : V6 (or V3 if you really, really do not want to spend too much money.)
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade for whales : V6R1
- Signature Weapon : Exceptionally good, but a bit too specialized for Klukai. Still it is a decent stat stick if you are going to use it for other characters.
- Comment : Klukai is the most versatile, the most mobile, and still is one of the most powerful characters in the game. But the problem is she needs to be V6. Otherwise, she is just a better version of Lotta. If you don't feel well for spending too much money, you may stop at V3; at V3 she can pretty much clean the house except bosses.
That being said, for latoon-related events such as gunsmoke, you can borrow your platoon members' V6 Klukai. And you can repeatedly borrow the same Klukai if needed.
15. Mechty
- Needed or Not : Good to have if you can field V6 Klukai + Peritya combo.
- Required Vertebrae Upgrade : V0
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade : V0R1
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade for whales : V6R1
- Signature Weapon : It is okay. Can be substituted with Guerno.
- Comment : The way she works is that she buffs Klukai by massively buffing Peritya. Yes, Mechty also directly buffs Klukai as well, but her main purpose is buffing our big cat. If you are in a platoon where you can borrow V6 Klukai and you have Peritya, Mechty is indeed a decent investment.
16. Vector.
- Needed or Not : ABSOLUTELY NEEDED. A core character for the burn team.
- Required Vertebrae Upgrade : V0
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade : V1(R1)
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade for whales : V2R1
- Signature Weapon : Exceptionally Good. Gives huge overall team damage increase.
- Comment : PLEASE DO NOT SKIP THIS CHARACTER. The burn team is currently the easiest to build for F2P players; you only need V3 QJ and V0~V1 Vector as absolute requirements. Vector's sig weapon is actually very powerful; it gives about 30% damage boost, so consider getting one if you have enough pulls.
When her modkey becomes available. She can almost completely replace Centa if Vector is V2, except the invulnerability gimmick.
17. YooHee.
- Needed or Not : Needed for the physical team. Good to have for general buffer if V2+
- Required Vertebrae Upgrade : V1 (or V0 only when she gets her first modkey. Still highly recommend V1)
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade : V2
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade for whales : V3+
- Signature Weapon : Not worth it unless you are going to refine the weapon. Planeta is better choice. Based on how other physical characters' weapons having defense debuffs, you really should just go for Planeta for the damage.
When Voymastina comes out, her sig gets barely more useful than Plasneta at least.
- Comment : Without her modkey, she at V0 is incredibly weak any other character can replace her and do better except weak SR characters. She only becomes functional at V1. Currently, she is a physical damage support, but her usability gets extended for other teams if you pull V2. As a support, she is completed at V3, and remaining vertebraes only increase her personal damage.
Her sig weapon is weak. Ironically, the sig is at its best when YooHee is at V0. The problem is, you do not use her at V0 in the first place. It becomes alright when Voymastina comes out due to its bonuses, but I feel there are other better signature weapons out there.
18. Zhaohui.
- Needed or Not : Not needed.
- Required Vertebrae Upgrade : V1
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade : V1R1
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade for whales : V1R1+
- Signature Weapon : It is actually really good and can be used as an alternative weapon for other characters due to its very good raw stats. Too bad the owner is underperforming.
- Comment : If you really want to use her, you need at least V1. Otherwise her damage is way too weak. Actually, even if you pull V1R1, you will find out she is incredibly weak; only when her modkey (which gives whooping 45% damage boost) becomes available, she becomes just "okay."
19. Springfield
- Needed or Not : ABSOLUTELY NEEDED. A core character for the hydro team.
I must emphasize that even the current CN server (as of 11/29/2025), V1 Springfield is the most valuable character you can have.
- Required Vertebrae Upgrade : V1
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade : V1R1
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade for whales : V3R1~V6R1+
- Signature Weapon : Very good. Can be substitued with Samosek or Arcana.
- Comment : Getting V1 is crucial; otherwise V2+ Tololo cannot shoot three times per round. However, I still recommend to NOT SKIP HER even if you can only get V0.
She becomes more useful as a support until she reaches V2. V3~V6 increases her personal damage, and they are exceptionally powerful. V6 Springfield is a monster, and if possible you may want to borrow her for gunsmoke battles if she is available from your platoon member(s).
20. Faye
- Needed or Not : You will get her free from one of future events. After that, she will be added to the standard pull.
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade : V3+
- Signature Weapon : It will be available at the Redundant Pieces shop and the standard banner. Get it if you like her much.
- Comment : After you get QJ V3 and Tololo V2, you might want to save your standard pull tickets for Faye. As a physical dealer, she is surprisingly decent and quite powerful when she becomes V4.
21. Peri
- Needed or Not : Not needed.
- Required Vertebrae Upgrade : V1
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade : V3R1
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade for whales : V3R1+
- Signature Weapon : It is good for her. Not much else.
- Comment : MICA tried to make a hybrid of tanker and dealer, and we got this. The biggest problem of Peri is that her damage output is too weak; she is outclassed by Sharkry unless she gets her V3. I am not so sure whether getting three extra copies of limited banner character to outperform Sharkry is a great idea.
Oh, also I forgot; Peri is not fully functional at V0. You need to get her to V1 at least. Otherwise she cannot maintain her rotations. Not a good deal if you ask me.
After Lewis is introduced, replacing Sharkry with V1 Peri will improve the overall performance of the burn team. Oh well, Sakura came out, and she buried Peri for good...
22. Qiuhua
- Needed or Not : Only really worthy if you can get her V3~V6. Otherwise she is just a fire Belka
- Required Vertebrae Upgrade : V0
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade : V6 (V3 if you are too poor for V6)
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade for whales : V6R1
- Signature Weapon : When V0~V2, Pigeon is better due to its utility. Only after V3+ her sig weapon becomes the better choice due to her damage stack mechanics.
- Comment : Technically, you can use her from V0, but you won't like her damage output. Only when she becomes V6 she does crazy damage. But I guess jumping from V0 to V6 is too extreme for many people. Another option is stopping at V3, but she is frankly not as great as other high value dealers. After all, when she reaches V6, she get overall insane ~95% damage increase. Only other character who is as extreme as Qiuhua is Klukai.
However, unlike Klukai Qiuhua's usability is way too limited. She is not as portable as Klukai. She has no utility, and her mobility is just average for a vanguard; all she does well at V6 is damage.
But the biggest problem is that her skills are ill-suited for multiple enemies. She gains damage by putting assist attacks into single enemy. She and her burn team cannot deal with multiple targets at once, and this problem became huge on the recent gunsmoke battles on the CN server.
I'd say wait for another decent burn dealer who would not require such extreme vertebrae requirements and have more flexibility.
23. Nikketa
- Needed or Not : Exceptionally good. Required if you dislike Tololo and does not want to build her.
- Required Vertebrae Upgrade : V0
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade : V1~V3
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade for whales : V6R1
- Signature Weapon : It's good but Maki's sig Bittersweet outperforms the sig when Nikketa is pre-V3. It also can be easily substituted with Samosek. There isn't much difference between the sig and Samosek; the difference is less than 4 percent at the typical situations.
- Comment : Nikketa is extremely well-made. She is feature complete AND is already strong from V0, and only gets stronger as she gains more vertebrae upgrades. You may stop at V1 or V3. At V3 she is about as same as Tololo V5+, and at V6 she is the highest single target dps dealer as long as you can bring her with V1 Springfield.
One good thing about Nikketa is that she is not that dependent on Springfield to function unlike Tololo. Sure, indeed her overall dps gets lowered, but not as extreme as Tololo. It means she can be used as a filling gap for all sorts of different teams if needed.
That being said, she does have a weakness; because she relies on enemies near at her immobile pet dog, once the enemies move out of the dog's attack trigger range, her dps gets shelved. This means she is very weak against mobile enemies who can move out of her dog.
24. Andoris
- Needed or Not : Needed for the electro team.
- Required Vertebrae Upgrade : V0
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade : V2(R1)
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade for whales : V2R1+
- Signature Weapon : As a support weapon, it's good. Can be substituted with Guerno.
- Comment : She is required for electro team since she is the only one who can consistently apply positive charges for her team. Also, she is the one who takes the responsibility of sustaining team just like what Suomi/Centa/Springfield do. So you should not skip her if you want to build your electro team.
If you check the subreddit's official resource, it is often mention that her V1~V5 will decrease Leva's performance due to the fact that those turrets will make Leva to attack prematurely. In short, it is not really true. Even in the worst case, you would lose about 4.44% or less. Most of the case, you may miss additional bonuses from zero stability debuffs for enemies as well as Jiangyu's buffs, so they cancel out or even come out top.
25. Belka
- Needed or Not : Not needed
- Required Vertebrae Upgrade : V0
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade : V0
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade for whales : V0+
- Signature Weapon : It's alright. Can be substituted with Planeta.
- Comment : She is basically a electro version of Daiyan. She is fully functional at V0. She is one of the classic case which is "good to have... but NOT really needed." If you already have Daiyan, I highly recommend to NOT pull her. After Daiyan's second modkey, Belka no longer can compete.
You certainly can use her as the last member of the electro team... if your Mosin Negant has not reached V6 yet. But please don't get vertebrae upgrades for the gunsmoke battles. There are far better investments available.
26. Jiangyu
- Needed or Not : Needed for the electro team.
- Required Vertebrae Upgrade : V0
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade : V0
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade for whales : V2+
- Signature Weapon : Don't get it. Just give her Golden Melody. The importance of the sig weapon actually decreases if you get more vertrbrae upgrades.
- Comment : After the remake, Jiangyu became the last piece for the completed electro team. She can shred stability points as well as defense/stability shredding, eliminating the need of non-electro characters.
Stability shredding is probably the most important part of her. So make sure to equip a key that gives 4 chi at the start of the battle.
27. Florence
- Needed or Not : Very good to have for the hydro team.
- Required Vertebrae Upgrade : V0
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade : V1 or V0R1
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade for whales : V3R1+
- Signature Weapon : Very good. Consider getting the sig first before any vertebrae upgrades unless you are planning to use her on non-hydro teams. If that is the case, Hestia is a better choice overall due to higher personal damage output with V1.
- Comment : She is essentially a hydro version of Mechty. She is good to have (and frankly the fact that she is fully functional at V0, you might as well should pull her anyway), but not really "needed." Still, at V1 she gets a big damage boost so that's something to consider.
Despite she is a "healer", she is not a healer and need a healer to function, which should not be problematic since you will always have Springfield for your hydro team.
If you upgrade her vertebrae to V3, she will be able to keep the buff on two characters instead of one, meaning you can maintain her buffs on both Tololo and Nikketa.
Oh, and one interesting thing about Florence is that she is NOT affected by weapon attachment set bonuses at all, because there is currently no attachment set that affects summons. So you can share the physical damage attachment set with Faye (who is also a handgun character) or Ksenia to save your resources if desired.
That being said, her summon still gets its critical chance and critical damage from Florence, so the quality of attachments will affect the overall performance.
28. Lind
- Needed or Not : Very good to have for the corrosion team.
- Required Vertebrae Upgrade : V0
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade : V0~V1 or V3
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade for whales : V6R1
- Signature Weapon : It's good. Though she is one of very few who can utilize Mezzaluna. Pigeon is fine too.
- Comment : As a sentinel support character, she is basically a fixed and improved version of Robella for the corrosion team. Unlike Mechty, she actually improves the performance of Klukai directly (about 35% more damage boost.) And unlike Robella, her damage from V0 is not that bad.
My only gripe is that she is also an AOE dealer... we really could use a single-target dealer, otherwise the whole corrosion team is still too dependenrt on Klukai.
29. Leva
- Needed or Not : Needed for the electro team.
- Required Vertebrae Upgrade : V0
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade : V1 (or V3 if you like her)
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade for whales : V6R1+
- Signature Weapon : It's good, but Svarog is extremely close and sometimes, outperforms the sig.
- Comment : She is the primary damage dealer for the electro team. Andoris V0, Lenna V1, Jiangyu V0, and Leva V0 complete the electro team, now it is as cheap as the burn team. Her damage jumps hard on V1, V3 and V6.
She has both single-target and AOE damage dealing mechanics, which makes more flexible than Klukai at low vertebrae levels. But unlike Klukai, Leva does not have any mobility skills so keep that in mind.
One weird thing about Leva is that her single-target damage is actually melee instead of ranged. It means a new melee-focused set is best for her if it comes out for the global server.
30. Lenna
- Needed or Not : Needed for the electro team. She is only one who can maintain the electro field. However, for that she requires V1.
- Required Vertebrae Upgrade : V1
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade : V1
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade for whales : V1
- Signature Weapon : It has several limitations and low dps that you'd actually want Classified Manuscript for her, not her sig weapon.
The problem with her sig weapon is that without installing her unique key, the bonus from her sig weapon does not activate, making it weaker than any other golden SMGs. This decreases her flexibility since you will be always using one helix key slot to use her sig weapon.
Just give her Classified Manuscript. Remember CM lets you cleanse one debuff from the target, which is quite important on gunsmoke battles.
- Comment : Her main role now is to maintain the electro field to keep the debuffs and buffs. Don't put too much money for her vertebrae upgrades because she is not really a big damage dealer.
31. Robella
- Needed or Not : Needed for the freeze team. She is the hypercarry.
- Required Vertebrae Upgrade : V0
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade : V0+
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade for whales : V6
- Signature Weapon : Actually Svarog outperforms the signature weapon for all cases. The problem is there is only one Svarog. If you can't give Svarog to Robella, then get the sig weapon.
If you got both Leva and Robella and cannot decide the owner of Svarog, Robella should have Svarog since she gains more from having Svarog than Leva does.
- Comment : With Alva, she is the hypercarry of the freeze team. She is feature complete at V0, and gets progressively stronger at each vertebrae upgrade; there is no defined parking stops for the upgrade, so stop at wherever you'd like (or your wallet allows.)
Unlike Klukai, her way to gain damage is unfortunately too situational (essentially, she requires her enemies to shoot her team to trigger ambush/retaliation attacks) that she is not as flexible as Klukai to substitute her as a general AOE dealer.
- Needed or Not : Exceptionally powerful for the burn and the hydro team... if you can get her V6.
- Required Vertebrae Upgrade : V0
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade : V0R1+
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade for whales : V6R1+
- Signature Weapon : Exceptionally good for its purpose. It is stronger than getting her into V1. Consider getting the sig first before any vertebrae upgrades.
Of course, with her ability to easily obtain critical chance, Optical Illusion is once again nearly worthless to her. Gah, thanks MICA!
- Comment : She is a typical hypercarry, with typical "V0 or V6" type character. At V0 she is nothing more than a sidegrade for Sharkry. She can be considered as a next-generation hypercarry for the burn team with new mechanics that is not related to the current assist attack mechanics.
And no, V2 does not give such a drastic damage increase. It applies to her ult, which increases the damage multifier from 180 to 200%. Overall, it only gives you about 12.56% total damage increase. V6 is where she get vast majority of her hypercarry-worthy damage (V5 to V6 alone gives almost 90% of total damage increase).
Now, interesting thing about her is that due to abilities gained at V6, she also becomes a hypercarry for the hydro team, doing absolutely massive damage each time a hydro character finishes her extra actions.
Since you basically get a character who can be used on two separated elements, I guess she has a bit more valuable than other hypercarries other than Voymastina.
And oh yes, as now, she is the second strongest hypercarry as well, behind Voymastina, but not as drastically strong as Voymastina though.
33. Alva
- Needed or Not : Needed for the freeze team.
- Required Vertebrae Upgrade : V0
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade : V2R1
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade for whales : V2R1+
- Signature Weapon : Exceptionally good for its purpose. Decent damage boost for the entire team. Get the sig first before any vertebrae upgrades.
- Comment : If you have noticed, you will realize that all the freeze members are labeled as "Needed for the freeze team." Unfortunately, it is true as of 2025. You need all five of them to have a functional freeze team, with the exception of Suomi, who can be replaced with V1 Helen. Of course, this makes the team quite inflexible.
That being said, following Florence and Lind, Alva is also fully functional from V0. The real star here is her sig weapon, which is essentially a stronger version of Vector's; the value of her sig is higher than getting to V2. So make sure that she has her own signature weapon before investing on her vertebrae upgrades.
V2 is very good, and you will feel good despite the fact that the actual damage boost is modest.
Weirdly, her damage is pretty much peaked at V5. Moving from V5 to V6 is not as drastic compared to all other previous characters.
34. Voymastina
- Needed or Not : Just Buy it™
She is a hypercarry for the physical team, but you will use her everywhere anyway.
- Required Vertebrae Upgrade : V0
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade : V0R1~V3R1+
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade for whales : V6R1+
- Signature Weapon : Exceptionally good for its purpose. For Daiyan, it is better than her own sig, and it is also very good for YooHee.
If you do not want to pull her sig, Golden Melody is the next best bet. A lot of her damage comes from the assist attacks.
- Comment : Essentially, at V6 she is as strong as 2.5 V6 Klukais (pre-modkey), depending on the calculations. Do not think about skipping her. Even at V0, she is about as strong as typical V3+ limited characters.
One good thing about her is that, other than a typical power spike at V6, the overall upgrade progression of vertebrae levels is incredibly smooth. Smoother than Robella's, actually. Even the V4 and V5 give you 20% damage boost each. That being said, V3 does give a lot of conveniences and AOE firepower so it can be considered as a good parking spot. Coincidentally, V3 is also where Voy matches pre-modkey V6 Klukai in terms of performance.
I my guess that she was intentionally made this way so people can join this game without being pressured to buy all previous dolls. Very F2P and new user-friendly, but the massive damage inflation does hurt the rest of us.
- Needed or Not : She is a cute(?), hard-working girl who can fix stuff in the story. Erm....
Just like Papasha, you can get her free from the platoon store. But she is much less useful than Papasha. Just get V0 for the dorm upgrades, then finish Papasha's vertebrae upgrades first.
- Signature Weapon : If there will be a machinegun character who uses summons, her sig may be useful. Otherwise, it is strictly a Bathilde-only weapon.
- Comment : As she is now useless. Even Vepley is more useful.
- Needed or Not : For the new burn team. Best if matched with Lewis.
- Required Vertebrae Upgrade : V0 if you will always using her with V6 Lewis. If not, get V1 or V0R1 otherwise she is weaker than Sharkry and QJ.
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade : V1 or V0R1
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade for whales : V2R1+
- Signature Weapon : Very good for her.
- Comment : Yet another character who demands V1. Technically, she is functional at V0, but she is too weak alone. At V1 her performance jumps by 30%+, so V1 is really a requirement or at least get a sig to compensate for her low damage. Otherwise, there's literally no point in pulling her unless for Lewis.
However, if paired with V6 Lewis, the damage boost is massive, even at V0; you do not want to skip her if you are building a burn team with V6 Lewis.
Other than that, at V5, she becomes a valid AOE burn dealer for the high difficulty missions. If you have enough money, Sakura can replace Klukai to a certain extent.... Though I doubt you would stop at V5 if you are already there.
For her weapon, it is surprisingly very good, but it only improves her personal damage. You really do not need to pull her weapon, but it does help her damage a lot ,so either choose V1 or her sig. Not sure getting V1R1 is a good investment if you ask me.
At this point, she is really made as a dedicated supporter for Lewis and not much else. Try not to think too much outside of her intended purpose.
37. Lainie
- Needed or Not : Good to have for the physical team.
- Required Vertebrae Upgrade : V0
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade : V0
- Recommended Vertebrae Upgrade for whales : V3R1+
- Signature Weapon : Good for her personal damage. Grab the weapon before you think about any vertebrae upgrades for Lainie. That being said, Lainie herself does not provide much damage from the start.
- Comment : She is versatile because she actually fulfills multiple roles. She can do both single-target and AOE damage, and her double counts as a unit for the Gunsmoke boss mechanics, eliminating the need for Papasha if desired.
The big thing she can do is defense shredding. With her and her clone, she can give you a total of -20% defense against enemies. -40% if she is V3. Since the main point of the physical team is defense reduction, Lainie is still a valid pick even though her personal damage is low compared to other physical characters.
She is functionally complete at V0, and unless you are really into the physical team, you should stay at V0. Without YooHee in her team, Lainie's V1 gives ZERO damage boost.
(As now she is out-damaged by both Daiyan and Ullrid, but her modkey is about to come out.)
